Re-Scrap 2015 | February pages

February is almost done you guys! I´ve said it before; after January is over the year just runs by! I am here today with my finished pages for Re-Scrap February. As usual first I show the older layout that I used as inspiration and then the new one.

Older page.

Sometimes the layouts are almost an exact life, but other times I am inspired by a small detail for example. This time I went with the diagonal theme and used washi tape for my stripes. This page came together in like 10 minutes! Oh, and I love to snooze!

Older page.

I used watercolor paper as my background for this page. I had a circle template from Fiskars that I used to paint the circles in different hues of blue. The story is about how good Skype birthdays can be :)

Older page.

They story here is time spend at the craft table with my nieces. We  love that time together! And pie charts you know ;)
Another month of this project is done and it feels good!
Have a  great weekend!

Things that make me happy

I used to list happy things and other things all the time a few years ago. I miss it and thought I´d share one of those posts right now!

Memory keeping | Cutie and happiness

I have been binge scrapbooking lately! I have those times where I just spit out layouts :) Here are two!

This first one was made in stages. The background is acctually one I made while at my sister´s house. Me and my nieces were watercoloring and the pattern turned out kinda cool so I used it as my background here. My sister had family photos taken recently and I love these of my nephew! So I added them and a title and some words. This layout was so hard to photograph straight! Sorry about that.

This next page also has a bit of watercolor on it! I messed around with my thin brush one night and added a bit the result to the bottom of this page. I stamped on the top of the page, leaving a gap for the photo and journaling tag tucked behind. I am in love with these colors right now!
Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all your birthday wishes!

35 favorite moments of my 35th year

Me and Elise  share a birthday and I am always inspired by how she sums up her past year on her birthday. This year she listed her favorite moments from last year. Her post encouraged me to look back and pick my favorite moments. I acctually went through my 2014 Project Life albums to help jog my memory. Perfect! So here we go!

1. The SPA weekend we went on with my sisters and their husbands in January was so good!

2. The beginning of February when we had temps around 10 degrees celcius!

3. When I finally got my act together and took care of boring but important bank stuff.

4. When we bbq´d down at the water in February.

5. The fact that on March 10th it was light outside at 7.41 am!

6. When we started seedlings for our garden.

7. When we were able to buy two big bags of groceries for charity.

8. At a flea market I got to flip through hundreds of vintage black and white photos.

9. When our cherry tree bloomed.

10. When we built our garden boxes together.

11. When I dug a new flower be…

Project Life 2015 | Week 7

Here is my spread for week 7!

For this spread I did have a clear image of which colors I wanted to use. I like the challenge of using certain colors or elements sometimes! I also tried to journal a little more. There are more words under that heart card, but I wanted it more hidden.

Friday, before Valentine´s day, my Pl kit from Studio Calico arrived, such perfect timing! The two lower cards where in that kit! I also included a card I made using my watercolors and stamps.
Do you challenge yourself sometimes in your memory keeping?

Memory keeping | Layouts with PL cards

I use the Project Life cards I have in my stash for regular scrapbooking layouts all the time! I love that they are useful for so many different projects. For this one above I had a January card left and instead of saving it for next year (since I am finiched with the January spreads in my PL album), I made a page about an event in January. We had a big storm January 11th and I made the journaling card and the photo(s) in the same size 3x4" as the card. Oh, and I made the photo collage on my phone before printing it.

This is another example where I used a journaling card as the size base for the rest of the elements on the page. I love the colors on this page!
Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2015 | Week 6

Hello Monday and hello week 6 in my Project Life album!

For this weeks spread I really wanted to include more journaling, so I intentionally put a 4x6" journaling card in there! I chose to write in list form for that one. The other card holds a weather report from our snowy beginning of the week. I don´t use those kinds of cards very often but I am very happy I have them in my stash!

The second page holds photos from the last few days of the week where we spend the weekend at my sister´s house. As usual I had a bunch of photos I wanted to include, so I made collages on my phone and printed those out in 3x4". Usually I use the app PicFrame, but for these I tried out the app A beautiful mess. I love that I can include so many photos this way!
Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine´s day inspiration

I think I am going to try this folded XOXO

I really like the geometric shapes still.

These treat toppers are just so clean and simle. And cute!

And if you follow this link you can find so many cute printables!

Memory keeping | Me & you

A little while ago, I asked friends to share a photo of me at 15 on Facebook. I didn´t seem to have one photo of me from that year. Anyway, while we visited my mom this past weekend, I found one that I just took a quick photo of to use on this fun layout I did.

My daughter is 15.5 years old and that is an age that I vividly remember myself being. I wanted to make a layout with our current playlists at age 15. I asked her to make a list of her top 10 songs right now and she is used to my requests, so the list came in fairly quick. When I made my list I had to google 1995 top hits for a reminder, but when I saw that list all the memories came back! Anyhow, I decided on these (above) songs eventhough I know I listened to both Whitesnake and Metallica too!
It was a fun layout to make!
And I will have to make a post about how I am absolutely love this new size on pages I have!!!

Valentine´s Day prep | from the archives

I like Valentine´s day. I do. I know it is a commercial holiday and everything, but I think it is good to have a day to remind us to be good to each other. The world needs that. Today, as Valentine´s day is on Saturday, I am sharing just a few past projects I have done other years. Ina day or two I will be back with a few things that have inspired me this year!

1. Free subway art 2. DIY filler card 3. Geometric heart banner

Watercolor background layouts

I am back today to show those extra layouts I made while inspired to watercolor! For this layout, I made those V shaped hearts in green shades to match my photos. They basically make out a little photo mat. It can be that easy!

Here is just a closer look. Our former team memberChristine Newman shared a great layout using watercolors to make her background here. I made mine just on freehand, but she shows an exellent example on how to use a stencil. For my second layout I painted thin circles and also added a few colored in circles. When I was finished it looked like it need a little more, so I stamped a small star randomly ontop of the circles. Before I added my photo I journaled on my typewriter. A little banner and that rub-on (awesome) were the finsihing touches!I hope that this has inspired you to make something fun with your watercolors! I am spending the weekend with my nieces and nephew and am planning a watercolor session!

WCS | Making your own patterned paper

Yay! Let´s make our own patterned papers! For my layout in the February gallery at WCS, I did just that and I thought I´d just show you real quick.

Whenever I have a scrap piece of paper left after a project I use it to scribble stuff down on or doodle with my watercolors. This acctually came from just a doodle while I was bored one day! I used a very fine tip brush and my black watercolor and first made the xoxo pattern just randomly on the paper. I like how uneven and imperfect it looks, which is perfect since I am not a painter by any means!  I then made the very simple heart patterned, which is basically a thick V.
The squares were a little bit more tricky, but I had the same philosophy here; make it perfectly imperfect!

I then used my 1 inch circle punch to punch out the circles I then used for my layout. Easy peasy! Oh and wouldn´t this be a great way to use your kids artwork on a page?! I think yes!

Last year I shared another easy way to use your watercolors to make scrapbook…

Re-Scrap 2015 | February inspiration pages

the idea: this is a project i have wanted to do for a long time. i sometime have troubles with design on my scrapbook pages. well, what troubles me is re-newing myself. i want to try new things, but i  don´t want to make pages that are not me. and i have done pages i really love, so i thought i´d make it a priority to choose 3 old layouts every month of the year and use them as inspiration for new pages. i mean, i am not re-scrapping the event or page, i am using the entire page and/or some elements of it to use as inspiration. i will share which 3 old layouts i am working with sometime the first week of the month. maybe you could draw some inspiration from them too?!

WCS | February gallery

The February gallery theme at WCS is "Love is in the air" and if you know me you´d know that it´s a no brainer for me :) I opted to make a layout with one of the many flowers my love have given me that we call Friday flowers. I also found a great quote on Pinterest that I think says so much!
For this layout I didn´t list any products since I have done the patterned papers myself. I am so happy with how they turned out! I´ll have a little tutorial up for this soon.
