Memory keeping | December mini 2016 - 1

Merry Christmas! I have been working in my December album all through the month just like the last 3 years. I started a new 6x8" album since the first one got full last year. I record all sorts of memories and traditions we make. This project is not at all daily, I don't need that pressure!

Most of the things I include are things that I include every year. That's the best thing about traditions! But the wrapping paper change and people get older and it is so much fun to look back.

I am using mostly pocket pages for this album and I like how it makes the album coheisive.

But I have just a few layouts that I have added without a pocket like this one above. I wanted to include a few photos in a pocket for easy access.

I'll share the rest of my album later this month!

BPC | My very first own class

Picture 1 of Pocket Prompts | 22 at Big Picture Classes

I am so happy to announce that my very first own class at Big Picture Classes goes live this coming Monday! It is a topic very near to my heart; Pocket Prompts. It´s part of a series where every month a new scrapbooker shares 5 photo prompts and 5 journaling prompts for your pocket pages. I am also sharing a in depth view of my process putting together my weekly spreads.

Crafts | Favorites from past Christmases

I really love to make gifts year round, but at Christmas especially. Before sharing what I´ve made this year I wanted to share two favorites from the past.

I love to go thrifting for materials that are so easy to make-over. Like Christmas ornaments. I found some great vintage ones and also a few lovely one colored ones and simply put initials and a snowflake on them for a personalized gift made in minutes.

Baking is also fun! If you don´t have time or enjoy baking you can buy cookies and candy and wrap them in glass jars and just top it with some cute fabric.

I´ll be back later this week with some handmade gifts and decorations I have made this year.

Kellie Stamps DT 2016 | All the layouts

In January 2016 I got the news that I would be on the creative team for Kellie Stamps. And I have loved every minute of it! I really enjoyed the creative challenge of making something every month just with the prompt of at stamp set. I was really just required to make 2 projects a month, but since I am such a fan, I always ended up with atleast 3 ;) In this post I wanted to feature all the traditional layouts I have made this year for Kellie stamps.

Other than these layouts I have used her stamps, both digital and physical, in numerous Project Life spreads, cards and mini albums. They have always been right up my alley and I haven´t had any trouble coming up with ideas.

I have made a few of my very favorite layouts using Kellie´s stamps and that makes me so very happy!

Thank you Kellie for having me on and for being ever so generous! I will be on the sideline cheering you on from now and my gosh you have selected an awesome 2017 team

Memory keeping | December mini 2016 - 6 past favorites

Three years ago, when my fiancĂ© and me celebrated our first December together, I started a December minibook. It´s a 6x8 binder from Simple Stories with pocket pages. I decided that I´ll have three years worth of December memories in this mini. So this year marks the last one being documented in this book. I am not doing anything daily (as in the December Daily project that Ali Edwards do) and since I do Project Life every week this album is all about our December traditions and sometimes I do have double recordings, but for me it is all ok. What I have felt special about working in my December mini is that I go all in with glitter, cheesy wordings etc. It´s fun! I fitted 3 years of Decembers in one album and this year I am getting a new album, but will still do the same thing.

Today I thought I´d share a few favorite pages and elements from the past 3 years before I start the new album.

1. I really like that I have included the things I have been inspired by every year. I take a screen shot of my December board at Pinterest and simple print that out. The style and inspiration changes over the years and it will be so much fun to look back at this in the years to come.

2. I have included our Holiday cards every year too. Instead of adding the actual card (which could be so fun!) I have taken photos of them since they are a little bit different and not all the same.

3. Traditions are a big part of this memory keeping project for me. My daughter, who is now 17, has always been the one to put the star up on the tree, so that is something I make sure to have in the album.

4. We really like to decorate for the Holidays and I make sure to take photos around the house. We also like to buy something new every year and I take photos of that new decor and put in the album. Sometimes there is a story to go with the photo, other times I just put the photos in there.

5. I have made these shaker pockets in a few places in my album and I really like effect, so I am sure I will be doing that again this year.

6. Last year I did include a few layouts in my album. I mostly use pocket pages, but I do like the feel of a few longer stories on one or two page layouts.

I can´t wait to start this years album!

Kellie Stamps CT 2016 | November

I'm so happy about the re-release of two alpha sets this month from Kellie Stamps! Slim Jim is a set I use all the time for all kinds of projects.

Here is a new page I did for the re-release.

I've been so inspired by fellow team member Diane and her awesome traveller notebooks lately. She often creates backgrounds using her alpha stamps, so I lifted her and made this background for my layout. I very rarely use any other color than black to stamp with, but after using this blue/teal Ink I may have to start.

Since my love is worse in his MS his wheelchair is a must. We are that couple that hold hands a lot and that is something I miss. But when the road is a tiny bit downhill we totally hold & roll :)

Memory keeping | Autumn TN 02

If you´d like to see my first few pages in my Autumn mini, just click here

I am still working away in my Autumn travelers notebook. I have enjoyed to add bits and pieces and stories about some of my favorite things about fall. I will go on in November and then start my annual Christmas mini at the start of December.

Quotes are one of my favorite things to include in my memory keeping projects, so it is no suprise that I have quite a few in here.

I will use most of the remaining pages for my 30 day gratitude project that I do every year with the grand finale of Thankgiving at the end of the month.

I have a question, if you are one who makes traveler notebooks, how do you store them when they are done?

Project Life 2016 | Details

Happy Friday! Today I want to show you some details from my Project Life pockets. I usually don't embellish a whole lot, but I do think simple goes a long way.
Ok, let's get started!
Above you can see that I played with the fact that you can see through to the next page using a printed digital stamp from Ali Edwards. I used another one for the opposite page too.

I often used my stamps to create background cards. I love making repeat patterns like this.

When I do embellish I use just a few enamel dots or epoxy stickers. Stamps and washi is another favorite.

Lately I've used my stapler a bit more. It adds both demension and interest.

I don't have a whole lot of flair, but when I find the right one, I like to attach it on the outside of the pocket.

This is the third year I've dried and pressed an autumn leaf and added it to a pocket :)

I hope you'll have a great weekend!

Kellie Stamps CT | Merry October!

Yes you read the title right, with the new Holiday themed releases from Kellie Stamps October will be very merry! All in all she has 8 new sets out! I can´t tell you how much fun we in the CT have had with all of those! Here are just a few projects I have made.

If I don´t change my mind I will be making a new entry in our December minialbum. Last year I finished up the first 3 December´s in the first album. You can read more about this here. So, I have med a few journaling and filler cards for that album.

As usual I have also used the digital stamps to make word strips to use as embellishments.

These circles come in a variety of choices and are blank in the center, but I had some fun and put a punched out circle of patterned paper in there.

I also made a patterned paper with a digital stamp to use for this gift bag.

I know I will be back to share many more projects using the many stamp sets for this month!

Autumn minibook 2016

I love autumn and was eager to try my hands on a travelers notebook style. So I made an insert myself and started collecting fall stories in it. The gallery theme for October was Falling for fall at Write Click Scrapbook and this spread above was my contribution and start of my minibook.

For some of my spreads I have used the #hashtagthisweek prompt by Mandy. I have really enjoyed using prompts lately. As you can see my spreads are quite simple.

My title here is actually cute from the Happy routine digital stamp kit by Kellie Stamps. I printed an outline version of the stamp on the green patterned paper and then cut it out.

I love journaling on tags these days!

The circles here are from the clear stamps Happy routine and I have just added water color to them.

Kellie Stamps DT | September projects

Picture 1 of Happy routine by lisafisa

I was one of the DT members that got to play with the clear stamps aswell as the digital version of the September stamps from Kellie Stamps. It is called Happy routine and has all sorts of everyday sentiments. I used one of the clear stamps to make this background for my layout. I like to do this with smaller stamps, it gives a big impact eventhough it is so very simple.
One of my happy routines is to be creative every day, painting or scrapbooking. It is so necessary for my well being.

For this subway art I used the digital set. In picmonkey I opened a canvas and then just added the stamps I wanted, then rezised and arranged them the way I wanted. When I had printed it out I added a stamped house and a chipboard star. I love how it turned out!

I´ll be back soon to share my October projects!

Memory keeping | Studio Calico Sunday sketch

Picture 1 of Plant mom SCsketch) by lisafisa

For this layout I used this sketch from Studio Calico. I thought it was fun to create the border around the edges. I used different green shades since my story was about me being a plant mom ;)
