Memory keeping | Hello spring!

Hi! I am still working in my travelers notebook albums when it comes to layouts this year. I still love the format!

Here is one of my recent pages. I had a lot of photos of little signs of spring so I wanted to use a few of them on a layout.

For this I used smaller square photos and I wanted to make the right side with a flip open page. You can get a feel of what I mean from the photo above. I just used an extra paper and sized it to a liitle bit smaller than the page in my book, so I could easily open it up.

Here is a look at the layout when it is opened up. So, you can see that the three photos on the far right is actually on the extra flip page. I love how thick the paper feels and how simple this layout came out.
So yeah, hello spring!

Project Life 2017 | Week 7-8

Happy Friday! I´m back today to show you my weeks 7 and 8 in my Project Life album for 2017.

Week 7: This was Valentine´s day week and I went with a pink and teal color scheme. When i think about it, I tend to use pink a lot these days. Not alot of words this week, I just let the photos tell the stories.

Week 8: This was my birthday week and what I am not showing here, are a few cards and drawings I got that I just punched holes in and added in between my pages. I like to add those in! I´ve seen quite a few PL `ers handwrite and then draw messy lines under it, so I tried it out.

Navy and pink are my soul colors at the moment!

Have a great weekend!

Memory keeping | BPC inspiration

I am a member and a teacher at Big picture Classes as you might know. I check out the new arrival classes every Monday and I always find some inspiration. Today I want to show you a layout that I made in my Travelers notebook album and how I used a tip from one of the classes!

The class that inspired me for this layout is called
Simple Techniques for Scrapbooking in a Traveler's Notebookand it has a lot of great tips. One of them was to use your stamp to make a border on your layout. It is very easy and creates a cool effect. On this layout I used black ink (my go to) but perhaps I border in rainbow colors would be great! I´ll have to try that out next time. The hello stamp and also the larger alpha stamps are from Studio Forty.

Project Life 2017 | Weeks 5+6

Still plugging away on my weekly spreads. I love how it has become routine for me to sit down on Saturday/Sunday to print photos and make my spread.
Week 5: I took Monday off work this week since I had picked up Stellan from the airport so late and I must say that it was the best decision I´ve made in a while!

I am still working on my post about what products i am mainly using for my Project Life album this year, but you´ll see that I do use older products too.

Week 6: I remember this week as a slow, ordinary week, so I documented what we were watching and a few stories like Sunday mornings and my daughter and her brother.

I used a smaller round photo in this spread. i think it is fun to do some of the see through stuff sometimes. I ended up using another photo on the next spread, but I could have used an embellishment also.

How are you doing with your Project Life?

Project Life 2017 | Products I am using this year

Pockets: If you have followed my Project Life story for the past 5 years you know that my style and size of pockets has changed over the years. For about a year and half now I use trading card pocket sheets. They have nine pockets slightly smaller than 3x4". Since most cards come in a 3x4" or 4x6" it does mean I do quite a lot of extra cutting, but I don´t mind that.

Weekly Cards: I am using the weekly cards from Nina. I also have used these other ones from her that i loved. They are digital downloads for a very good price!

Cards: Since I don´t subscribe to any kits at the moment I have bought a few digital kits that I am printing out. I have done that for years and since I have a good printer at home (Canon Pixma 4750) it works out good for me. One of the kits I have bought is the Project 52 Fresh Edition journaling cards from Becky Higgins. I have also bought a few kits from Paislee Press, like the High Five kit and from One little bird designs, like the

Memory keeping | I love weekends + Friends expert

I am working in my 4th travelers notebook right now and that can only mean that I really do love the format! I´ll share two pages today. This first one above is one I did for Studio Forty using their TGIF stamp set. I love how the stamp "weekend" looks on the striped paper! Lately I have made more and more double page layouts. I think it is easier to see a spread as a canvas.

This next one is one of my favorites! My daughter has seen the show Friends a lot during her childhood since it is one of my favorite shows. I love that she now is an expert and we share quotes all the time!
I love to use one page as a title page and the other as a place for my journaling, as you can see in both these :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2017 | Week 3 & 4

Week 3: Still alone at home with my fiancé gone in Spain. As usual I used a few collages of his photos and a short journaling section about what he had been up to. But I also included a few of the things I had going on.

This was the week of the US president inaguration and eventhough I am not in the US this effects the whole world, doesn´t it? And since I am friends with a lot of people in the US and I am interested in international news I really wanted this to be documented in my PL.

Week 4: This week we had a great weather and I was actually out digging in the dirt! I guess that is why I chose to use yellow accents on the spread. If you look closely you can see that I made an insert of my fiancé´s photos this week as it was his last week away.

This is a look at the left side of the spread when I flipped the insert. I spend the weekend in Gothenburg with my family and then picked up my guy from the airport last thing before heading home on Sunday night. As you can see I still love the…

Memory keeping | 2 sketch layouts in my TN

I´m a team member at the swedish SWEscrapbook blog and I often make projects for the Monday sketch posts. Here are two of my recent layouts for sketches.

Here is the link to the first sketch.

I really liked that the sketch had a circle photo. I made mine round with the Pic Frame app on my phone before I printed it. If you look closely you can see black hearts on the background. That is actually the back of a patterned paper I had used one the next page in my travelers notebook. It worked out great!
For this two-page layout I used this sketch.

I created the diagonal lines with two washi tapes across both pages. I usually like to have a centered look, but with the travelers notebook that is harder to do. I like how I balanced the layout out with a right alignment of the photos.
Thanks for popping in!

Project Life 2017 | Week 1 and 2

Happy Monday! I´m here sharing the two first spreads of my 6th year of weekly Project Life. Wow! That is a lot of memories ;)

I am still doing my weekly spreads using the baseball card pocket pages. I´ll have to look for another place to buy them because my usual place just raised the price quite alot!  The first week of the new year was the first week that my fiancé was away in Tenerifé, Spain on a rehabilitation camp for his MS. He was away 4 weeks and it was such a tough time! But I knew that I wanted to include the photos that he took and send me over the course of the trip. So I printed a few in pocket size, but mostly I made collages of his photos.

It was fun to compare my view in wintery Sweden to his tropical. And by fun I mean I was hugely jealous ;)

I often hear scrapbookers say that they don´t scrapbook about themselves and I can´t believe that. Even if you are not doing "All about me" pages, it is still your voice as a memory keeper that fills the albums, right? Be…

Studio Forty CT | Smile often

I really wanted to use those beautiful leaves on the Botanicals stamp set, and for this I used a teal colored ink. One of my tricks to create different shades when I stamp is to simple stamp twice. First I stamp one time with full ink and then once more with the leftover ink.

Here is a closer look at the finished product. Do you see the different shades? I think it makes for a more textured look. I finished the page with a label that matched my ink perfectly and more stamps from the Love love set, a sentiment sticker from the Everyday words set  and lastly a star from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by!

Studio Forty CT | Hearts layout

I often find heartshapes in nature and I wanted to scrap all the ones I took photos of last year. So I first found my photos and then used 9 of them to make a collage before printing them out. I had 11 photos so I printed 2 of them a bit larger.

For the background on the right page I wanted to make one of my own. So, I used one of the heart stamps from the cute Love, love stamp set and stamped all over my page.

When I was sure my ink was dry I used my watercolors to paint the hearts in. I choose a green shade because it represent nature for me.

I used my 2 larger photos to make a little booklet on the left side. This is easy! I just line them right side against right side and add a washi strip to the right side.

This is a look at how I did a simple front page for the little booklet. I wasn´t sure if I wanted to use the bigger scalloped circle or the smaller circle as my accent so I stamped the sentiment from the Botanicals set on both so I could see how it looked. I ended up using them b…

Project Life 2016 | Week 49-52

With this post I am all up to date with sharing the entire 2016´s Project Life spreads!

Week 49: More and more I see that my spreads become color coordinated. When I look back in my earliest albums I used all sorts of colors and "styles", but I guess by doing this project weekly for 5 years straight you develop your own style.

Week 50: These last weeks are mostly about Christmas stuff like baking, gift wrapping and decorating just like they always are for us.

Week 52: And this is the very last week and spread in my 2016 album. It is super simple and has more words than usual which I love.

I´ll be back sharing my first few weeks of 2017 next week!
