Memory keeping | 2 sketch layouts in my TN

I´m a team member at the swedish SWEscrapbook blog and I often make projects for the Monday sketch posts. Here are two of my recent layouts for sketches.

Here is the link to the first sketch.

I really liked that the sketch had a circle photo. I made mine round with the Pic Frame app on my phone before I printed it. If you look closely you can see black hearts on the background. That is actually the back of a patterned paper I had used one the next page in my travelers notebook. It worked out great!

For this two-page layout I used this sketch.

I created the diagonal lines with two washi tapes across both pages. I usually like to have a centered look, but with the travelers notebook that is harder to do. I like how I balanced the layout out with a right alignment of the photos.

Thanks for popping in!

Project Life 2017 | Week 1 and 2

Happy Monday! I´m here sharing the two first spreads of my 6th year of weekly Project Life. Wow! That is a lot of memories ;)

I am still doing my weekly spreads using the baseball card pocket pages. I´ll have to look for another place to buy them because my usual place just raised the price quite alot!
The first week of the new year was the first week that my fiancé was away in Tenerifé, Spain on a rehabilitation camp for his MS. He was away 4 weeks and it was such a tough time! But I knew that I wanted to include the photos that he took and send me over the course of the trip. So I printed a few in pocket size, but mostly I made collages of his photos.

It was fun to compare my view in wintery Sweden to his tropical. And by fun I mean I was hugely jealous ;)

I often hear scrapbookers say that they don´t scrapbook about themselves and I can´t believe that. Even if you are not doing "All about me" pages, it is still your voice as a memory keeper that fills the albums, right? Being alone for a month challenged me to really include stuff I and only I did. Walks in the forest, the book I was reading, the TV-show I bingewatched etc.

This week I made a simple accordian book to hold my fiancé´s photos. You can see more about that here.

That´s the beginning of my first album of the year. I am up to date and currently working on the spread for week 8!

Studio Forty CT | Smile often

I really wanted to use those beautiful leaves on the Botanicals stamp set, and for this I used a teal colored ink. One of my tricks to create different shades when I stamp is to simple stamp twice. First I stamp one time with full ink and then once more with the leftover ink.

Here is a closer look at the finished product. Do you see the different shades? I think it makes for a more textured look. I finished the page with a label that matched my ink perfectly and more stamps from the Love love set, a sentiment sticker from the Everyday words set  and lastly a star from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Studio Forty CT | Hearts layout

I often find heartshapes in nature and I wanted to scrap all the ones I took photos of last year. So I first found my photos and then used 9 of them to make a collage before printing them out. I had 11 photos so I printed 2 of them a bit larger.

For the background on the right page I wanted to make one of my own. So, I used one of the heart stamps from the cute Love, love stamp set and stamped all over my page.

When I was sure my ink was dry I used my watercolors to paint the hearts in. I choose a green shade because it represent nature for me.

I used my 2 larger photos to make a little booklet on the left side. This is easy! I just line them right side against right side and add a washi strip to the right side.

This is a look at how I did a simple front page for the little booklet. I wasn´t sure if I wanted to use the bigger scalloped circle or the smaller circle as my accent so I stamped the sentiment from the Botanicals set on both so I could see how it looked. I ended up using them both! I simply layered them on top of eachother using a foam dot. On this photo above you can also see where I put my washi tape that I explained a bit further up.

I love that the little booklet makes the spread a little interactive!

Project Life 2016 | Week 49-52

With this post I am all up to date with sharing the entire 2016´s Project Life spreads!

Week 49: More and more I see that my spreads become color coordinated. When I look back in my earliest albums I used all sorts of colors and "styles", but I guess by doing this project weekly for 5 years straight you develop your own style.

Week 50: These last weeks are mostly about Christmas stuff like baking, gift wrapping and decorating just like they always are for us.

Week 52: And this is the very last week and spread in my 2016 album. It is super simple and has more words than usual which I love.

I´ll be back sharing my first few weeks of 2017 next week!
